Basketball Coach in Alexandria, Virginia
Tiffany Lockett is a lifelong athlete who lives to teach and play. A standout basketball player for the Baldwin‐Wallace Yellow Jackets, Tiffany led the team in scoring and free throw percentage her senior year. She was also named Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week, and ranked among the top scorers (top 15) and free throw shooters (2nd overall) in the conference during the 1992‐1993 season. Tiffany still holds the school record for the most free throws made in a single game. After college, Tiffany played semi‐professionally and dedicated much of her time to teaching young men and women the game of basketball in the Greater Cleveland area. In 2011, Tiffany was inducted into the Wooster High School Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements as a three‐sport athlete (basketball, volleyball, track & field).
After re‐locating to DC, Tiffany continued to play basketball in Maryland while leading recreational activities at the Fairfax County Department of Parks and Recreation (VA). In 2005, Tiffany joined the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue to become only the 5th African American female to join the department. As a former first responder, Tiffany knows the value of offering support and compassion during difficult times— a skill she has used as a basketball coach. In 2011, after 6 successful years as a firefighter/EMT and serving as the department’s only African American female engine officer, Tiffany decided to return to her true passion: coaching young athletes.
Tiffany received her Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine (CA). Remaining active, she plays racquetball and basketball and studies karate. A past Virginia state champion in kata and kumite, in 2006 Tiffany competed for Team USA in the 5th World Shitoryu Karatedo Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Tiffany most recently served as the Head Coach of the Forest Park High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team. In 2016, she was selected to coach and develop St. Lucia’s Junior National basketball program. Unfortunately, an unexpected illness and subsequent hospitalization kept her from relocating to St. Lucia. Now fully recovered, Tiffany is seeking a college coaching opportunity.
