Lode Roels is a Belgian-Canadian journalist and radio host, working for VRT Radio 1, the public news channel in Belgium. Holding dual citizenship, he is fluent in English, Dutch and French. His warm, deep and trustworthy voice is one of the most recognized voices on the Belgian airwaves.

From 2000 to 2007, Lode Roels hosted the top-rated morning news show on Belgian public radio. From 2007 to 2011, he anchored the afternoon current affairs program. Between 2011 and 2016, Lode lived and worked in Canada, first in Moncton, NB and later in Toronto, ON. After a brief stop at CBC New Brunswick, he started working as a communications manager and press officer. Early 2016, Lode returned to Belgium, reconnecting with his old passions: radio and journalism.

With experience as a researcher, reporter, radio host, online writer and audio editor under his belt, Lode Roels excels in versatility and flexibity. He calls himself a news and information junkie, and is up to speed with current affairs, both national and international.
