As former public school teacher, the best memories were the witty, creative kids who allowed me into their world, the parents who spoiled me, and the teachers and staff who shared their lives with me in those hectic, full days.

Saying goodbye to this vibrant community, I am reminded of a quote an education professor told our class of future teachers. "For some of you, education and teaching is a stepping stone."

I am now stepping to my next stone, freelance writing, mixed in with advocating for teachers. Teachers are the most caring, hardworking people. They deserve someone in their corner! That will be me!
