Loïc Fontaine

Internal Community Developer in Paris, France

Most of the time, I think I'm just a kid with the salary and some of the responsibilities of a grown-up. After years feeling terrified about it, I figured it was problably the same for almost everybody. I find comfort in this idea.

I also like games of all sorts, especially when they're smartly designed and can get me to use my brain. I'm fascinated by the fact that people are able to interact with others from all around the world thanks to the Internet, and that they use it to do amazing, stupid, creative and/or brilliant stuff. And I'm obsessed with fun and mind-blowing facts of all sorts, but my favorites are definitely those about odd animals.

I'm always wondering about how and why things work in a certain way. I love to discuss, laugh and argue about it, and eventually to reach a greater understanding of all kind of more or less useless things. Did you ever wonder what algorithms define the priorities for an elevator? Now, you do. My idea of life is to staying open minded, curious and to look forward while avoiding apathy at all cost. I tend to argue with people who are turned to the past, and driven by nostalgia when the future is so exciting.

For some reasons, people smarter than me thought it would be a good idea to hire me to work on ways to improve how people interact, share and work in Ubisoft. It's my dream job on many levels, but essentially because I get to wear a hoodie instead of a tie, and to write cool blog articles while listening to The Rolling Stones and the Wu Tang.
