Hi
Thank you for checking out my page. My name is Lokesh.
Let me explain you what I do in a non technical way :-).You must have browsed thousands of websites for varieties of work like net banking, booking, searching, etc. And you must have wondered where does all this data come from and where are your secret and non-secret information stored. Well, this where my expertise comes in. I am a database developer.
I am often being introduced as a SQL craftsman. And I would not deny it :-).
I love coding in SQL and writing queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects. Along with SQL, I also have expertise in MSBI tools such as SSIS and SSRS. I am currently exploring and learning the concepts of Machine Learning (and tools/languages like R, Power BI, Tableau) as I believe BI and Predictive Analysis complement each other.
I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by technological and domain experts from whom I have learned immensely.
Let's talk about my art. Thanks to the freedom given to me within the project, I tried to change the code wherever the scope is possible with the aim of increasing efficiency and ease of maintaining it. In one of the examples, I replaced the.Net Code inside some of the ETL packages to SQL which allowed fellow developers and support team staff to have better control and have the capability to maintain it properly.
Sometimes it is really exciting to implement the things you have never implemented and read about it in books only. I encountered it when I came across a performance tuning problem involving Parameter sniffing. In short, the issue refers to the incapability of the query engine to use an optimized execution plan. From technical stand point, I replaced the global parameters with some local ones inside the stored procedure used for fetching data for the report. This saved most of us from scratching the head in order to find out why the report would not show up even though the database stored proc executes rapidly.
I think you would have got a fair idea of what I do as a database developer. Please take some more time and browse through rest of the experiences and feel free to write.
I am also passionate about fitness and help people to achieve their fitness goals. Do check out my website www.letsbemuscular.com for some tips and motivation.
