Longhi Group
The partnership has passed the Implementation Phase and Martin Longhi enthusiastically describes the on going journey: “Our cooperation is very good and we have a mutual understanding of each other's company, our joint establishment and what it takes to bring it all forward. We have successfully set up a new active carbon filter production. Besides making our standard activated carbon filters, we have been developing a special inline filter together with an IVF client. This has been a very exciting project, as it is a new segment for us, and the IVF industry is very particular about the quality. Every part must be absolutely perfect in all aspects and I am proud to say that we can produce these high quality filters in Indonesia.
At the beginning of our joint venture we had not thought so much about the local market, but it has proven to be reversed. We took part in INDOWATER Surabaya, where we were one of several exhibitors invited to the Danish Embassy Pavilion. Besides our regular customers in Europe we are now also getting local requests.
It all looks very promising, but it has not only been easy, in fact at times we have felt like we are climbing up a giant hill. One of our biggest challenges has been getting all the necessary licenses / approvals for our joint venture/company and we still have a way to go!
It has also been a challenge to find the right suppliers to fit our size of company, without compromising on our high quality demand. In 2015, we will keep tuning in our processes of making carbon filters and develop new products to match our customer’s needs. As an activated carbon manufacturer we have projected a reasonable growth this coming year and we will welcome new employees to get it all to rise to a higher level.
The global need of activated carbon products are growing and Indonesia has generous natural resources to be able to manufacture in an environmentally friendly manner. Our goal is to grow in Indonesia and make Cocarb first choice of ecofriendly activated carbon products.”
