Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Longhouseconcert is our alias for the houseconcerts that we hold in our home. It's named after the street we live on in Upstate New York: Longhouse.

We have attended many houseconcerts featuring artists like Lowen & Navarro, Ellis Paul, Sons of the Never Wrong, Rich Ortiz and Michael McDermott. We have been in condo living rooms that held 30, a Victorian home that hosted 60 and a backyard that held 80.

Q. What is a House Concert?

A. It's an intimate, creative event in the privacy of someone's home that will fill you up with music and leave you wondering when you'll attend your next houseconcert. It's a great opportunity to bring friends together to enjoy live, acoustic music, fellowship, food and fun. You can mingle with the performers and buy their music.

Q. Do I buy tickets?

A. Since the concerts are in our home and because we are not a business, we ask for a "suggested donation" of $20 per person. However, this "donation" is still as close to being mandatory as we can make it. Without the money, we could not get the caliber of musicians that we hope will grace our living room. We work on the honor system and need everyone's participation. When guest arrive, they check their name off the list and drop $20 per person in the kitty. At the houseconcerts we have attended, everyone puts in the suggested amount and some even put in a little extra. ALL (100%) of the donations go directly to the performers.

Q. How many people can attend a Longhouse Concert?

A. We have hosted 45-55 people, but we can accommodate up to 60. The concerts are held in our living room/family room combination, which has high ceilings and very good acoustics.

We set up folding chairs. If it gets crowded, people can stand along the sides. If you want a 'good' seat, you need to arrive early, but not before 7:00!

If you have special circumstances, we can save you a seat. Just let us know in advance. In terms of allergies, we don't have cats, but we do have a dog. She is certain to nudge your hand to be petted, over-and-over again.
