Victoria Longman
I have just finished my final year studying BA Media Studies at Wirral Met College; I am training to work in the filming industry so that I can become a director or editor. I am very passionate and a hard worker in my course and have had marks of Classes 1 and 2:1. I am waiting for my end results and I graduate on the 6th July
Education
1999-2005 I have gained eight GCSE's at grade C and higher, including Maths and English.
2005-07 Studied Psychology, Sociology and English Literature for A level
2007-09 Media Studies at A level and BTEC National Award.
2009-12 Media Studies BA Hons
Work Experience
I have done volunteer work based within the media, I have filmed and edited a fashion show in 2008, and I am currently working on editing a website tour video for the Hoylake centre and also a play that I had filmed for the actors of Wirral Met, Twelve Quays campus.
None media based work I've done is work at Pacific Road Theatre as a Steward in 2007; I left to study for my A-levels
Skills
From my years of studying Media I have worked in many different job types including; journalism, radio production, photography, media theory, visual culture and video production and from these I have learned how to use software's such as Quark, Cubase, Photoshop and video editing software's such as iMovie, Windows Movie Maker and Final Cut Pro. I have also learned how to use dark rooms and confidently use cameras for photography and filming. I have worked in teams and I am a good team worker as well as leader. I have very good communication skills and I'm very creative.
Hobbies
In my spare time I like to practise editing by creating non-profit videos using footage from films and television programs. I have also been writing fiction stories and scripts of many different genres. I also enjoy socialising on the internet with people around the world and I am currently a film critic on a blog site.
