Phil's current work focuses on distributed ledger technologies and digital Identity, learning technologies, analytics, and the architecture of learning/work environments.
He is working with Arizona State University as a Special Advisor to the CIO, as well as to the Chief Technology Officer at EdPlus. His work there includes proof of concepts, proximate next steps, & technologies directions largely emphasizing decentralization.
Phil is also a Senior Scholar at Georgetown University's Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS). He mentors graduate students, advises, and occasionally teaches in the Masters in Learning, Design & Technology.
He has worked and retains an active interest in the integration of digital and physical spaces, their instrumentation and design.
He is also a Foundation Honorary Professor at the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
He is a lapsed biologist now learning scientist focused on emerging technologies, the cognitive interactions with them, & the spaces, physical and virtual wherein they occur.
