As a child I always had a class of stuffed animals that I would teach spelling words to and read my favorite books to. Growing up, being a teacher was always on my mind. Now that I attend Saint Xavier University it feels like my dream is becoming closer and closer to achieve. I'm studying to become an early childhood teacher and maybe one day open my own daycare.

I grew up and was raised by parents who always motivated me and guided me into the correct path. I took the role of 'big sister' very seriously once my two younger brothers were born and taught them as much as I was able to. I attended Morton East High School and graduated in 2011. As I look back, my childhood and high school years really helped me become the person I am today.

In 2011 I became a Golden Apple Scholar. The Golden Apple Foundation works on helping high school graduates become exceptional teachers. Through summer institutes and onsite experiences, Golden Apple allows its scholars to begin their teaching experience before their first semester of college begins.
