Lorelei Linklater

Born in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Lorelei Linklater currently resides in California’s San Francisco Bay Area, where she focuses on her many artistic talents. In addition to working as a painter and illustrator, Lorelei Linklater has also worked as an actress. In 1999, she played a young girl in the opening scene of the film “Waking Life.” The band Shpongle also incorporated her well-known line from the film into its song “Botanical Dimensions.”

More recently, Lorelei Linklater played the older sister of the main character in the film “Boyhood.” Filmed over a period of 12 years, “Boyhood” features actors Ellar Coltrane, Ethan Hawke, and Patricia Arquette. It examines a boy’s relationship with his divorced parents as he grows up. Directed by her father, Richard Linklater, the film has received critical acclaim based on its first screenings. Lorelei Linklater’s other significant work includes her many paintings and drawings and her graphic novel, entitled “Weird Time.”
