I am a writer, educator, and lecturer. My research areas include mLearning, design, and cognitive science.
My work focuses on the human side of human-centered design. Through no fault of their own, most practitioners in this field have a stick-figure idea of the human being. Research is usually so centered on the product that the systematic study of the human element is neglected. With few exceptions, the quality research available on the subject is buried under a mountain of glossy-paged superficial books.
By writing and lecturing on the nature of perception, motor skill acquisition, learning, and the ontology of our tools (both digital and good ol’ fashioned) I am attempting to rectify this imbalance.
