Lorena Guillé-Laris was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1979. At the age of 18 she started pursuing with enthusiasm a positive change in the world.
She actively participated in the coordination of global conferences such as: the State of the World Forum (SWF) for Emerging Leaders - Monterrey, Mexico ´99; SWF for Peace and Reconciliation - Belfast, Ireland ´99; the United Nations Conference “Financing for Development”- Monterrey, ´02; the Youth Employment Summit (YES) – Veracruz, Mexico ´04; and the VI World Meeting of Families – Mexico ´09).
Convinced of the contributions responsible companies can make to build equitable and fair environments, strengthen civil society and promote democratic and accountable governments, Lorena committed professionally to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). From PepsiCo Mexico and now at Cinépolis (the largest movie theater company in Latin America), Lorena has built a liable career in philanthropy and CSR. As Executive Director of Fundacion Cinepolis since 2006, she´s been responsible of recovering the sight of 15,000 people in need who suffered cataract with the social program “Del Amor nace la Vista”, being it recognized as one of the most effective social programs in Mexico in five occasions. In 2008 founded the International Film Festival on Human Rights TESTIGO which in five editions has screened over 100 documentaries on Human Rights to +8,000 people. Lorena is member of the Global Philanthropist Circle, Synergos since 2006, co-founder of Más Ciudadanía, an NGO committed to political advocacy, volunteerism and civic participation in Mexico with 1,200 active members (2010); Professor at Mexico´s first Masters on Social Responsibility at a leading University in Mexico (2010); Weekly contributor with her own column on CSR in the daily newspaper “El Nuevo Mexicano” (2012) as well as Board member of other foundations. Lorena is happily married to Santiago and their first baby in on his/her way.
