My career in the sport industry is just beginning with my pursuit of a bachelor of science degree, majoring in sport management with a minor in marketing at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Currently in my third year at BGSU, I have already gained great amount of experience.
I started out as a manager for the men's basketball team as a freshman and after just one season of hard work and dedication, I am now head manager for the team, a position I will proudly hold through the 2014 - 2015 season. I also joined the Sport Management Alliance (SMA) and earned a position on the marketing committee as a freshman and sophomore. I am now holding the Secretary position on the Executive Board.
In addition to continuing my involvement with these two activities I have also become a part of the Richard A. Maxwell Sport Media Project as a writer for the Media Watch blog. During the summer after my freshman year, I worked as an Ballpark Operations intern for the Toledo Mud Hens. These are all great experiences I look forward to continuing and hopefully finding more ways to get involved in sports.
My ultimate career goal is to become a college basketball coach. Though I will do whatever it takes to make this a reality, I understand that I must have a plan B. The other career path I am interested in is sport marketing. I would also like to venture into the world of entrepreneurship.
