Lori Silver
Lori Silver, sole proprietor at The Law Office of Lori Silver, studied theoretical mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley as an undergraduate. Soon after earning her Bachelor of Arts, Lori Silver enrolled at the UC Hastings College of the Law. As a student, Lori Silver served as Associate Editor of the Hastings Journal for Communications and Entertainment Law. Several years after obtaining her Juris Doctor (JD), Lori Silver continued her education at Golden Gate University by studying tax law and earning a Master of Laws (LLM). While at the UC Hastings College of the Law, Lori Silver held a number of positions that gave her experience in estate planning, taxation, and other elements of law. After Lori Silver founded the publishing company, Three L Press, she distributed her book, How to Make a Better Profit in the Law Office - Year After Year, which found readership in both America and France. During one of Lori Silver’s fall semesters, she accepted an externship with California Supreme Court Justice William Clark, analyzing cases that were up for review. Also during Lori Silver's education, she interned in the estate planning division of a San Francisco law firm, drafting wills and trusts and becoming familiar with estate law. Between receiving her JD and her LLM, Lori Silver held posts on the staff of two U.S. Congressmen, John Rousellot and John Heinz, as a Legislative Aide. After that, for two years each, Lori Silver provided her services as a Tax Senior for Arthur Andersen LLP and Deloitte & Touche. Then, in 1993, Lori Silver established The Law Office of Lori Silver. For the past 18 years, Lori Silver has offered legal counsel in matters related to estate planning, taxation, and trust administration from her Monterey, California, firm. Aside from assisting her clients, Lori Silver teaches students about estate planning and federal taxation at Monterey College of Law and speaks about tax law to Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), attorneys, and Enrolled Agents (EAs).
