Lori Wheeler

Lori Wheeler is an entrepreneur, writer, and the founder of Early Warning Entertainment, Sea Glass Coffee House, and Sea Glass Events.

Now retired from the game, defence, and cybersecurity industries, Lori has turned her focus to entrepreneurship and writing, drawing on decades of experience at the intersection of technology, security, and creative industries.

As the founder of Early Warning Entertainment—now retired—Lori led a consultancy providing military advisory services and strategic consultation to the entertainment and defence sectors. The organization brought together currently serving and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces and United States military to provide authentic operational expertise for interactive media and related industries.

Lori has also collaborated with international law enforcement and security organizations to advance understanding of virtual worlds, online gaming culture, and emerging digital threats. Her work included contributing to the INTERPOL Working Party on Information Technology Crime, providing expertise on gaming and virtual worlds.

Prior to founding Early Warning, Lori specialized in game security within the AAA video game industry, focusing on anti-cheat technologies, anti-piracy initiatives, and secure digital distribution.

Earlier in her career, she served with the Government of Canada, where she was responsible for systems design and security architecture.

Lori later joined Canadore College as a professor in the Game Design & Development and Cybersecurity programs. As a Subject Matter Expert, she also contributed to the development of the college's Bachelor of Computer Science program.

Today, Lori lives in the historic seaside town of Pictou, Nova Scotia, where she pursues entrepreneurial ventures and is writing fiction inspired by history, atmosphere, and the darker corners of the human imagination.
