Lopè Ariyo
London
Hello!
My name is Lopè. I'm the recipe developer, writer, photographer and blogger behind "Food & Drink with Lopè Ariyo". I'm also a mathematics undergraduate who keeps sane through trying out different foods here and there. When I'm studying for a maths exam you'll usually find me crying whilst downing cups of coffee. I'm British-Nigerian, so being the hybrid that I am, I have the ability to be immune to spicy food while also savouring tart desserts.
Unlike, most food bloggers, I didn't grow up in a family that loved cooking. My mother is the type that cooks to survive and would rather be cooked for. It never helped that I was a picky eater growing up so I started making my own foods (pasta and rice) when I was about 8. Since I got the chance to do a lot of experimenting I learnt a lot more about .
If I'm not writing down ideas for new recipes, taking pictures of my food, sampling foods at a restaurant, pretending to be a sommelier nor stuffing my face with cake then I'm probably stressing out about my degree. As for what you should expect from me, I hope to offer inspiration for West African food by either making them with modern forms of cooking or by fusing them with foods from other cultures. My (multiplatform) blog is for anyone looking to try their hand in not so traditional West African food. I make dairy free foods, drinks and bakes too! Especially bakes with lemon!
I try my best to post at least once a week, maximum three. When I do post it'll be either Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday.
Thanks for visiting!
