Lorna Cooper
Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer in Kenmare, Ireland
"The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams." Oprah Winfrey
Never satisfied with an ordinary life, Lorna Cooper seeks out a constant challenge with a true spirit of adventure. An adventure that roots itself in sports, athletics and hard earned fitness. Lorna joined the R.W.C.F. team in 2016 as an experienced fitness coach and seasoned athlete. Her no nonsense approach to personal training means she gets down in the trenches with everyone and quickly makes a believer out of them.
"Physical activity and sports have always been a part of my life. I began playing ladies football at an early age. By the time I was in secondary school I fell in love with basketball and rowing.
My interests lead me to study Health and Leisure in Tralee I.T. where I specialized in Outdoor Leadership along with Personal Training and Gym Instruction. I went on to graduate in 2012 with an Honours Degree. Having trained with the coaches at R.W.C.F. for over a year prior to becoming a member of staff, I am pleased to say that I have learned so much from them all. I felt inspired as I continued to develop my knowledge of strength training and fitness. I was encouraged to build a new found level of self-belief which has not only helped me become a better person/athlete/trainer, it has has strengthened so many other aspects of my daily life.
I’ve grown to love weight training for so many reasons. Lifting heavy offers me confidence and empowers me to continually set my goals higher. It makes me feel kinda BADASS! Watching the way lifting changes one's physical appearance is beyond motivating. Experiencing the power of personal transformation can be life changing, It helped me realize I am able for so much more than I give myself credit for. This is a common issue among women across all walks of life. I AM STRONG. Not strong for a woman, I am just strong."
