Ian Smith is a writer of travel stories whose career has hit the skids. After seriously considering going out and hanging himself from the bough of a tall tree (preferably an oak), he decided instead to do what every other chancer is doing nowadays and begin writing a blog. Though he still can’t quite see the point of it, he is rather enjoying the experience, not only because it allows him to air stuff that he would otherwise have to keep to himself, but also because it gives him the opportunity to celebrate and, hopefully, share with others the joys and wonders of living on a small Greek island that moves, inspires, and excites him on a daily basis.

Currently flat broke and stranded, albeit quite happily, on that island, his ultimate goal is for some rich bastard to cotton on to what he’s doing and pay him a shit-load of money to go and do it somewhere else (and then return, of course). He would also appreciate it if more people started buying him drinks.

BTW: that's him in the middle, with Menelaus' cat Achmet (formerly known as 'Mavro-Aspro').
