Hello, and thank you for your interest in my blog.

Based in Paris, where I have worked in the international media sector for over twenty years, I am interested above all by language and human connection as expressed in different cultures, and more specifically through literature and the arts.

I first lived in Paris as a student, studying theatre and political science. After that, it was clear : Paris would become my permanent home.

Passionate about film and anthropology, I studied documentary film-making at the Ateliers Varan in Paris, and film-editing as an intern at the Billancourt Film Studios. I landed my first “real” job in television working on a weekly show devoted to World Music, called “Megamix” broadcast on the French cultural channel, Arte.

I then spent many years at the French pay-tv network, Canal+, as a researcher, producer, international buyer and commissioning editor of documentaries. From there, I moved to Lagardère Active Media, where I focused primarily on new channel creation, the development of programming and content acquisition strategies. We successfully launched Al Jazeera’s first educational channel for children in Qatar. I was then appointed Director of Youth Channels at Turner Broadcasting Systems, France managing Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Boing, and Adult Swim.

My experiences within three major media corporations compelled me to go back to school, to study the mechanics governing corporate management, and reevaluate my personal, professional objectives. This past year, I obtained an MBA from HEC Paris, specializing in “Entrepreneurship and Innovation”.

Since then, my life has taken an exciting new turn, allowing me to reconnect with my true passions and values, and dedicate my time to projects that are meaningful to me, such as my teaching at The School of Life in Paris, and this blog about friendship, which is an extension of the class entitled, "How To Be a Better Friend".
