Louis Gardino

Unincorporated Snohomish County.

I have been working with telecommunications and radio equipment for the past 30 years. Originally, I started my career in the Air Force, working on ballistic missiles. Then I went into communications. After many trips around the world, and to the Gulf of Mexico for various disasters, I am trying to slow things down a bit.

There was Afghanistan, then Hurricanes Katrina/Rita/Wilma. Then back to Afghanistan, providing radio and satcom support to special forces personnel. Then to California, for a ship hitting the Golden Gate bridge. Next came a trip to Iraq, doing what I do best. Then floods on the Mississippi River and emergency communications support for that. Communication support for the 2009 Police and Fire Games was in there too. Then I acted as one of the Frequency/Spectrum monitors for the 2010 Olympic Games. Next came an oil spill in the Yellowestone River. Getting internet and radio singal 24 miles down river was a chore.

Lots of craziness, so much so, the military hauled me in to make sure I was doing alright. I am a mentally strong person, but a little worse for wear physically. I retired from the military in 2013.

I still provide communications support for various groups in the local area. A local school district approched me to upgrade their radio system after the Sandy Hook incident. A ski patrol asked me to program their radios after they received poor service from their previous vendor. A neighbor has had me maintain his RV's satellite television system. It has been a fun time dealing with technology and putting it to good use.
