I am a painter. I am inspired by the changing colour an light in nature. The landscape or sea reflects the sky's mood. From my grand studio I have magnificent views across the valley to old Sarum and this is a constant course of inspiration to me. I love where I live and want you to occupy the painting; contemplating the beauty I’ve seen. A fleeting moment of pink in the sky on a clear Winter’s dawn can be just as exciting as a stormy sea crashing against the coast. I adore using colour in surprising ways adding the golden light of Italy, a crystal blue sky of France and the vibrant colours of Brazil mixed into a very British landscape. Strong colours blend with translucent glazes that can remind the viewer of a place, feeling or emotion.
