I'm a PhD candidate in English at the University of Sussex. I left Oxford University in 2011 with a First Class degree in English Literature, then interned at Political Scrapbook, the UK's #2 left-wing blog, and StrategyEye, a subscription-based tech news service with clients including the Financial Times and the BBC. I've been a Junior Editor in the UK office of Software & Support Media, a News Writer covering the European beat for The Verge and a graduate student at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. My freelance work has appeared in The Guardian, The Times, The Times Literary Supplement, Times Higher Education and The Independent, as well as on a number of websites in both the UK and the US. I've also done extensive brand strategy work for The Semiotic Alliance, producing in-depth, theoretically rigourous reports for a range of high-profile multinational clients.
