The recipient of an arts and science degree in fire technology from Chabot College, Louis Manzo, Jr. is an Alameda, California-based firefighter with three decades of experience. He began his career at Contra Costa Fire Protection District (CCCFPD) in 1990 and was promoted to fire engineer in 2001. Louis Manzo, Jr. spent five years in this position, during which time he operated fire trucks and rescue apparatus and Type 1 to 3 fire engines. He subsequently served seven years as a fire captain.

Louis Manzo, Jr. was promoted to battalion chief at CCCFPD in 2013 and served in this capacity until 2019. He managed seven fire stations in the district and oversaw a $20 million budget and 60 personnel. He also functioned as incident commander and managed the district's apparatus shop. Moreover, he represented CCCFPD in discussion with City of Walnut Creek representatives.

Louis Manzo, Jr. is now a lead supervisor and rescuer at DC Technical Rescue in Sacramento, California. His responsibilities involve developing rescue plans and job safety analysis and ensuring safety for confined space entries in line with Federal-OSHA, CAL-OSHA, and Maritime regulations. He enjoys playing recreational baseball and is a volunteer coach with the Danville Little League. He also plays golf at the Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville.
