My name is Louis; I'm twelve years old and I'm in year 8 at St Hughs School Carswell. Throughout my life I have played various sports; my favourites are rugby and cricket followed closely by hockey. I love playing sport because it keeps me fit, healthy and gives me a positive mindset and mental attitude that feeds through to every part of my life. As I'm part of a team in a lot of sport and I realised that every boy on the pitch has a say on what goes on and it's not just about one boy. I find sport to be a greta foundation for life as it's always teaching me about the highs and lows one goes through and no matter how hard things may seem that it is always key to beleive in yourself and your team.

My Rugby Passion

My passion for rugby started at the age of 4, when my Dad signed me up for Oxford Harlequins. I played tag rugby there every Sunday for three years until I moved school when I joined my friends at Grove Rugby Club. I have been playing there ever since making the transition from tag to contact and loving every minute of it. Our current team has won or been runners up at many of the Rugby Festivals over the last five years - it was always bewteen us, Wallingford, Banbury or Oxford! One of my rugby highlights was when we toured some of the best rugby clubs in Ireland including Lansdowne and Black Rock in 2011. My position is No 10 where I play for club and school I hope also to play in that position for Oxford School of Rugby having just been selected for the U13s County Team. What I love about playing fly half is the respect you earn on and off the field because you have to be there for your team in so many different ways. I also enjoy the responsibilty of stepping up to take the kicks to put you 2 to 3 points ahead.

My Cricket Passion

My passion for cricket started when I picked up a bat and ball with my Dad and older brother in the garden. It was then that I discovered the rarity of being a left arm bowler and a right arm batsman. I played regularly at Oxford Downs Cricket Club for three years before my boarding commitments at school got in that way. I have been selected for the last three years to play for Oxford County.
