M.I.C. Mr. Classic, born Mike is an 80's baby. He is a visionary lyricist, songwriter, and founder of LovaMan and His Crew (The DLY Crew) This talented artist has navigated a remarkable journey, from his early life in Miami and Haiti to his distinguished career in the US Marine Corps and his passion for music.
Born to Haitian parents M.I.C. is the second eldest of 4 siblings and 7 half siblings, including the renowned artist Ludie. He spent his formative years in Lapointe des Palmistes, Haiti, where he developed a passion for architecture and design. He graduated from Sonlight Academy and was offered a music scholarship, which he declined to pursue his dream of becoming a Marine. M.I.C. enlisted in the US Marine Corps, rising through the ranks to become a Master Gunnery Sergeant with two combat tours.
In addition to his military accomplishments, M.I.C. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Human Services and a Master's degree in Human Services Counseling/Business. His unique blend of creative talent, military discipline, and academic achievement has shaped him into a formidable artist and songwriter.
M.I.C. was the co-founder of Genèz, a reggae hip-hop group consisting of 4 members: M.I.C. (co-founder) Ludie, Kenson Merard, and Bengji Dupre. Genèz aimed to combine Ragamuffin and danse hall melodies with Christian lyrics. Genèz was dissolved upon the departer of co-founder Ludie and Bendji Dupre. Shortly thereafter, M.I.C. founded Lova Man and His Crew.
As the founder, M.I.C. brought together a talented trio, including Dug G. and Y-MC to create music that significantly impacted the evolution of hip-hop culture in Port de Paix. The group performed frequently garnering a large fanbase due to their energetic high quality perfomances and collaborates with local bands. M.I.C. was recognized by Sinik Mizik, which subsequently landed him a feature on Sinik Mizik's hit carnival “Sou Do” in 2000. With his lyrics and songwriting, Lova M.I.C. continues to push boundaries and challenge the status quo, earning him the reputation as an intellectual and conscience voice in the music industry.
