Love Leah

Love Leah

For micro-preemies in the NICU, blankets are a critical component of care – they provide comfort, keep babies warm, and protect babies from light. More importantly, they must always be clean, so a typical NICU baby goes through several blankets a week.

Leah Shefsky was a micro-preemie who benefitted greatly from the kind donations of blankets from friends and family. Love, Leah is a new charity created in honor of Leah Shefsky in which much-needed blankets are donated to the NICU at Maria Ferrari’s Children Hospital in Valhalla, NY.

Here's what you can do:
- Volunteers create their own 2’x2’ blankets (e.g., knit, crochet, quilt, etc)
- Blankets are submitted to Steven & Becky Shefsky, the administrators, who then wash all blankets prior to donation to ensure a clean environment.
- Blankets are donated on Leah’s birthday, February 10th, every year.
