Lovell Jones

For more than fourty years, Dr. Lovell A. Jones has been on the forefront to change our approach to addressing issue that deal with race, especially in the health care arena. As he often say, "Health in minority and/or underserved communities can not be addressed by attacking a single health issue, it has be done in a holistic manner." Recently, he has said that "Health alone will not close the health gap in this nation. Dr. Jones retired as the first African American dual Eneritus Professor in the University of Texas System. He is now Associate Dean for Research at Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing located in the Texas Medical Center.
