Dr. Low Dog is a physician, educator, author and internationally recognized expert in the fields of herbal medicine, integrative medicine and women's health. She was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the White House Commission of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, appointed to the Advisory Board for the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), chaired the United States Pharmacopoeia Dietary Supplements and Botanicals Expert Information Committee from 2000-2010, is a member of the National Cancer Institute’s PDQ Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine Editorial Board and is a founding board member for the newly forming American Board of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Low Dog has been an invited speaker at more than 500 scientific/health conferences, published more than 30 scientific articles, written 18 chapters for medical textbooks, serves on eight editorial boards. Her most recent book is National Geographic's Life Is Your Best Medicine.
