A graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelor of science in biology, Dr. Lowell Barrowes attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. After completing an internship with the San Bernardino County Medical Center, Dr. Lowell Barrowes spent 15 years as a family practice physician with a variety of practices, including 10 years with a family practice group affiliated with Keokuk Area Hospital in Warsaw, Illinois.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Lowell Barrowes has held numerous full-time locum tenens positions in more than 75 facilities in Georgia, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, among other states. Most recently, he spent several years as an emergency room physician at the Belcourt Indian Hospital in Belcourt, North Dakota.
To stay up-to-date on topics related to emergency medicine, Dr. Barrowes attends conferences and other professional events, and he previously maintained membership in the American College of Emergency Physicians.
