Lorena Pérez Macías

Seville, Spain

Learning about other countries and cultures has been a passion of mine since I was in high school. This is why I studied a BA in Tourism at the University of Seville. While working as a travel agent and conference hostess, I realized how much I enjoy being a mediator between two languages and cultures. At this point in my life I determined that I wanted to do that, but in a professional manner, and I studied a second BA, this time a BA in Translation and Interpreting (German) at the University Pablo de Olavide. I completed the last year at the University of Leipzig (Germany). Back again in Seville, and after completing a course on Traslation for Dubbing and a course on Website Localization, I undertook a MA in International Communication, Translation and Interpreting (English). More recently, I have finished a course on Literary Edition. I am at present in the first year of my PhD at the University Pablo de Olavide. My field of research is the study of the Directionality in Translation Practice in Spain.

I have been working as a translator since 2010. During this time, I have translated a wide range of different kinds of texts for translation agencies and individuals in Spain and other countries, such as Germany and the United Kingdom. I have also worked as a translator of scientific and academic texts at the Faculty of Experimental Sciences of the University Pablo de Olavide.

Apart from translation, languages and researching I enjoy a wide variety of interests such as dancing, swimming, photo editing and fashion & beauty.
