Being from such a small town, in such a small state, like Delaware, I have always wanted to and love to travel. I jump at any opportunity that comes my way to visit a new city, state, or country. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved growing up in Delaware, it is where all my friends and family live, but not that many people are traveling to visit Wilmington, Delaware. Most of my travel when I was younger was family vacations to the Outer Banks, Florida, and beaches around Delaware and surrounding states. However, as I got older, I started visiting other places. My mom has run 4 full marathons and many other half-marathons, so my dad, older sister, and I would always travel to those races to watch her and make a little vacation out of it. I have been to upstate New York, Nashville, Tennessee, Orlando, Florida, and countless other places to watch her race. Again, as I got older, my travel started to become more fascinating and interesting. I have had family vacations in California, Turks and Caicos a couple times, Maui, Hawaii, twice, which is actually where I want to live for a couple years after college. I went on a school trip to Australia, where I spent 18 days traveling to new cities, doing the most interesting activities ever, such as petting kangaroos, and actually holding a koala bear. I have been extremely fortunate to visit all these places at such a young age, and hope to continue traveling, hopefully during college, and after I graduate. Visiting all these places that I have travelled to has taught me so many new things, introduced me to so many new people, and showed me so many different sights, that I never imagined that I would be able to see. Travelling, in my opinion, is one of the most rewarding opportunities, and is worth every penny. Every time I visit a new place, I fall in love with it, and want to start planning my next trip before I even go home, but even though I said I cannot wait to leave Delaware, whenever I get home, I am so happy to be back.
