Just a beach bum at heart! Thank god we only live 1 hour away from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Bastendorff Beach, near Coos Bay, OR. I am a man who has been very blessed in his life to have the most wonderful step-daugher, who is more of a daughter, Kati, and three wonderful sons. Tragedy took my yougest baby boy away from my on June 27, 2003 in Tahachapi, CA. It was one week before his first boy scout camp out and just before he would have turned 11 yrs old. I didn't come to terms or acceptance of my sexuality until I was 40 years old and my oldest son has not dealt well with that, but time will tell. Now it is January 2015 and Alex is 26, going to be 27 in November and he still will not have anything to do with me. It is his choice and I have come to live with that. If he chooses to want me in his life, and I hope he does, I will be there for him. He has to accept me for who I am and not who he wants me to be. I have had my shares of good and bad relationships with men and women and decided to give up on everybody, and then one day I met Charles while we were volunteering at Southern Arizona Aids Foundation in Tucson. We had dinner together and have never been apart since. He is truly my other half, soul mate. He is my checks and balance system, so to speak. We can talk about anything and totally understand one another. Charles has been dealing with Multiple Sclorosis since 1992 and I have been dealing with HIV since November 1992. We are our best support group and the boys keep us running and feeling alive, even when we don't want to. I truly thought diaper changing days were long behind me, but God fooled me!!! Hopefull we will get Alex potty trained as quickly as we did his brother, Anthony. I was referring to Alex and Anthony, our first foster children. Alex was a year and a half and Anthony was 2. It was 2007 and since then, we have had 5 foster children and have recently adopted Ashton, who is now 8 and Brad will be adopted on January 20, 2014. We now have 2 wonderful children, 3 Bassett Hounds, 1 Beagle and 2 cats. We are a very well rounded family. Charlie and I have had our Domestic Partnership since it became legal in Oregon in 2007. On this Monday, September 16, 2013 we are going up to Vancouver, Washington with the boys and our family from Portland and we are getting married. Times are definitely changing and I never thought I would live to see it. Life is good and I am so very happy. Charlie and I have a 50 year cont
