Chinese name Chau Lai-Tuen. Made in Hong Kong, exported to the UK as a transracial adoptee in the early 60s. A dyslexic, who grew up to become an actor, writer, filmmaker, trainer and transracial adoptee advocate and speaker. Who loves Dimsum, Yorkshire puddings and green tea. One of the first, if not THE FIRST British East Asian to have graduated from a recognised UK (adult) drama school. First professional role the lead in the ground-breaking British Feature film PING PONG directed by Po Ch'ih Leong. The first British East Asian to have been nominated for a major UK Theatre award in 1991 for her stage performance in Drink The Mercury. More recently once again nominated for a theatre award OFFIE (Of Westend Theatre) Award, as best actress appearing in a play (Hungry Ghosts by Tim Luscombe - Orange Tree Theatre 2010) Recent acting credits include:

The Trip - triple award wining short film directed by Prano Bailey-Bond. Lucy is also in post production for her self funded independent documentary ABANDONED, ADOPTED, HERE a film that looks at the nature of identity through the perspective of the transracial adoptee. Lucy has just finished performing her solo theatre piece THERE ARE TWO PERFECTLY GOOD ME'S: One dead, the other unborn as well at The King's Head Theatre as well as producing a show case production of her new play I.C.U. that was premiered in NY at the Sonnet Theatre to appreciative audiences.
Lucy is now a published author, writing under her Chinese name Lucy Chau Lai-Tuen Sheen, now appearing in the new poetry anthology THE DANCE IS NEW . Lucy is also a contributing author in the anthology PERPETUAL CHILD: AN ADULT ADOPTEE ANTHOLOGY.
