General Mark Alexander Milley

General Mark Alexander Milley is a United States Army general officer, who is the 21st and current Commanding General of U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). A 1980 graduate of Princeton University, he gained his commission through ROTC.[2] Though commissioned as an Armor officer he has spent most of his career in Infantry or Special Forces assignments.[3] He most recently served as the Commanding General, III Corps, based at Fort Hood, Texas. Previously, he served as the Commander of the 10th Mountain Division from November 2011 to December 2012.[4] He has also served as Deputy Commanding General (Operations), 101st Airborne Division from July 2007 to April 2008 and; Commander, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light) from December 2003 to July 2005. He assumed his current assignment on August 15, 2014. Princeton men's hockey is excited to welcome back to campus Major General Mark Milley '80. The Commanding General of the US Army's 10th Mountain Division will act as the Commissioning Officer for the Class of 2012 Commissioning Ceremony on June 5 at Nassau Hall. University President Shirley Tilghman will present remarks.
Milley was a two-year lettwinner for the Tigers in 1977-78 and 1978-79 under Coach Jim Higgins. His leadership began when he was named captain of the JV squad in 1978.

Milley graduated with a degree in political science in 1980. He earned two masters degrees in international relations and in national security and strategic studies.
In the last 31 years, Major General Milley has held multiple command and staff positions in six Infantry Divisions and Special Forces, including two previous tours with the 10th Mountain Division.
