Luann Adams

At her private practice in Royal Oak, Michigan, therapist Luann Adams specializes in working with individuals, couples, and family groups to create solution-focused processes. A licensed marriage and family therapist, registered nurse, and certified social worker, Luann Adams draws on her extensive experience in health services to address personal and relationship concerns. Educated at Wheaton College in Illinois, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Luann Adams spent several years as a nurse in various specialties before embarking on a second career in counseling and psychotherapy. In addition to earning a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Luann Adams completed postgraduate studies in marriage and family therapy, conflict management and mediation, and the provision of professional supervision. She has also received specialized training in biblically based counseling and solution-focused therapy. In the past two decades, Luann Adams has expanded her counseling practice to include speaking and writing on topics in health and wellness, most recently publishing "Getting Unstuck: Bouncing Back Up When Life Gets You Down." A board-certified professional Christian counselor and charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Luann Adams also works closely with local churches to provide church-based mental health services and educational programming.
