Research

My research activities can be positioned at the interface between Technology, Business and Society. The fundamental quest that I believe underlies most of my research work can be described with a single question: how can we design better socio-technical systems in a way that individual action can be aggregated so that the collective system behave in an intelligent way?

More recently, I have been working intensively to investigate if and how online technologies can be used to do more than "just" sharing information. Can we do a better job in leveraging online interaction to help groups, organizations and communities to aggregate and store dispersed knowledge into a distributed and reusable memory? Can learning and innovation be enhanced by the availability of such a memory?

I apply my research work to organizations and business networks in field including collective learning, group probelm solving and decision making, and distributed innovation
