Lucas Gobert
Writer, Editor, and Storyteller in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
For as long as I’ve had memory, I’ve been fascinated by stories. I’ve always wanted to understand stories, all stories, even if I didn’t care for the show (book, movie, etc.) that the story lived in. When I got to high school I started writing them myself, and eventually went to postsecondary for a BA in Creative & Professional Writing to hone my craft as both a writer and an editor.
At the heart of what I do, both professionally and personally, is this love of stories. They are the most important aspect of what makes us human. What are the stories we tell? How and with whom do we share them? What do they teach us, and why do we tell them? These are important questions that define us, and I find them infinitely fascinating. I am passionate about creating stories, but as I've come to learn and enjoy doing, I'm just as thrilled to help others share theirs.
Novels, songs, comics, movies, jokes, life-stories, paintings, meals, and so very much more; from Adventure Time to Shakespeare, Passenger to Whedon, whether it’s the Hero's Journey or a session of D&D with friends—storytelling is what I do; a storyteller is who I am.
