Everybody wants to be entertained. Whether it be by movies, television shows, books, or sites on the internet, everybody wants to be distracted from the tedium of their life every now and then. My preferred form of entertainment has always been music. I love all kinds of music. As long as the music is good, that is. I enjoy Tupac just as much as I do Johnny Cash, who I enjoy just as much as Modest Mouse. Music has always been able to relax, to take me away from the problems of the day. Whenever the world starts to seem like it might be too much to bear, I put my headphones in my ears, and all my problems feel so much lighter. Music has also served as a major connection between my father and I. When I was younger, my dad would take me to concerts that were being put on by all his favorite bands. The majority of my favorite memories of my childhood are just being stage side with my dad while some punk band sings about anarchy. The shows were good, but they were made a thousand times better by the fact that my dad was there to share the experience with me. Music has served as entertainer, healer, connector, and so much more for me in my life, and I know it will continue to do so in the future.
