Lucas Hershberger

When I was a child I always wanted to be 'the guy on the radio.' The thought of being the voice that people woke up to in the morning or went to bed with at night was extremely appealing. Through hard work and dedication I eventually broke into the radio business and went from being the overnight weekend guy to a DJ on the #1 rated morning show on the #1 rated Top 40/CHR radio station in my hometown of Wichita Kansas. Through the radio field I began to fall in love with the television industry. I got a break and was hired on as a part-time graphic designer for the ABC affiliate in my town. I once again climbed the ladder and I now find myself as the Operations Manager of the NBC affiliate where I live. While I help manage a television station in the daytime, I spend my nights and weekends studying entertainment business as I not only have a passion and interest in this industry, I feel a degree in this field would be nothing but beneficial to me. To conencide with this degree choice I also work part-time as a Guest Services Representative for the largest arena in the state of Kansas. In every position I've had over my career I've had to start from the bottom and work my way up the ladder. This has taught me that hard work and dedication really do pay off regardless of what others may tell you.
