Lucas is an established cassava seed entrepreneur and farmer based in Homabay County, Kenya. The graduate teacher of high school is the Founder of Lactone Investments Ltd. He ventured into the business immediately after college because of his passion for agriculture.
He is committed to addressing the challenge of low productivity for cassava farmers in the western region. He is involved in the bulking of improved cassava varieties which are early maturing, high yielding, and tolerant to diseases. He currently has over 4 acres of cassava seed farm and is a member of a network of seed entrepreneurs within the country. He has a network of customers across the western region and beyond ranging from individual farmers to farmer groups and institutions.
Lucas uses his expertise to guide fellow farmers on the best practices for climate-resilient and sustainable food production. He also has interests in cassava value addition such as flour and dry chips processing
