Full Professor of Biochemistry at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona, Italy, where he has worked since 2002 and has served as Full Professor since 2021 at the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences, DiSVA. His research centres on oxidative stress, redox biology, and the role of antioxidants in health and disease, with a longstanding focus on Coenzyme Q10, mitochondrial function, and the biological activity and bioavailability of vitamins and antioxidants in nutritional and functional formulations. His academic work has developed in close dialogue with a wide range of industrial partners in biotechnology, nutraceuticals, food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Coenzyme Q10 Association and is currently serving as Scientific Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Pretoria, promoting international scientific research and cooperation .
