I come from a multi-culti background. I was born in South Korea and we moved to SoCal when I was 7 years old. My mom had remarried to a Mexican-American, Northrop Grumman engineer, who raised us kids in American/Mexican/Korean cultural household. When I was in my teens, I suggested to my mom's complaints of being lonely that we join a local Korean community church. She asked why she would want to mingle with recent immigrants who spoke in thick accents and we were Catholic?

I disagreed on this as you have to take personal responsibility for your own happiness, success, trials and errors. To evolve takes personal commitment, discipline and rigor. I am continually learning and I push myself outside my comfort zone all the time.
