Sweda invented the First Mechanical Cash Register in the late 1930's and with good market acceptance, the company prospered and the market share grew steadily. During 1950's to 1970's, the company emerged as the world leader in the cash register market.
Sweda was the first company to introduce PC-based POS systems to the market in the 1980's. Leveraging on our expertise and market sensitivity, we were the first company to introduce Touch-screen based POS systems to the QSR (quick service restaurant) industry in 1987. Today, Sweda remains one of the active players in retail automation specializing in POS systems for the grocery and food services industries in North American and Asia.
