Lucy Edwards

I am currently studying BSc (Hons) Business Management and Marketing at Harper Adams University.

I attended Merchant Taylors' Girls' School, Crosby for high school and completed my GCSE's here. After this I moved on to Hartpury College, Gloucester to study a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management achieving Distinction* Distinction* Distinction* which lead me onto the course I currently study which is listed above. I wish to work in events management for my placement year hopefully at a Jockey Club Racecourse such as Cheltenham.

Since I was young I have worked on our family farm which is located 20 miles north of Liverpool. Since foot and mouth disease in 2001 our family decided to diversify into a children's farm park called Farmer Ted's. I have worked here since I was 15 undertaking jobs such as mucking out, tractor rides and speeches to crowds of around 200. We also run a seasonal event in October called Farmaggedon of which I am heavily involved with, sorting paper work prior to the event and then running front of house, wrist banding people and checking tickets throughout the month. Whilst living for 2 years in Gloucester I worked behind the bar at Gloucester Rugby's Home Ground, Kingsholm and was also a student ambassador at college that I have carried on and am part of the student ambassador team at Harper Adams University.

Over the years I have completed my Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburghs which has taught me a lot about team work and perseverance. I am currently competing my Diamond Duke of Edinburgh which is fundraising for the Duke of Edinburgh charity by doing something you wouldn't usually do, for this I am completing a sky dive.

In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and own two Clydesdales of which they are hacked out and schooled. Another of my interests is rowing, I have recently been elected the Womens Captain for 2016/2017 and also I am in the first team 8+ for Harper Adams University. I am an active member and contribute a lot to the club showing team work and commitment.
