Lu is an award-winning writer and science journalist, educator, author of acclaimed book "Let the Baby Drive: Navigating the Road of New Motherhood" (St. Martin's Press, 2004), former NBC anchor/host (Real Life; Unsolved Mysteries) and Discovery Health Channel host of Make Room for Baby and Total Family Health, and active speaker. For five years, she hosted The Science Show, syndicated in 110 countries, translated into 17 languages. In 2012-13, Lu co-hosted an educational television program in NYC called Liberty Treehouse. She is a frequent guest contributor on FOX5 Live in New York as an education and parenting author, expert and advocate.

Her children's book "Picnic on a Cloud" (2011) is an illustrated about the power of wonder. Her bestselling book "The Garden: A Parenting Parable" (2013) is an illustrated story for parents about raising children to thrive.

Lu's essays and articles have been published in The New York Times, Mothering, Parenting, Fit Pregnancy and Redbook. She has been a guest on The View, CNN, NPR, FOX, MSNBC, Life & Style, the Today Show, WABC and more.

She is an award-winning newspaper columnist and feature writer focused on the intersection of science and psychology of relationships, brain-mind-body resilience, mindfulness, and innovative education, for Gannett News's Courier Post newspaper.

For fifteen years, Lu has keynoted, lectured and led dynamic workshops across the country for parents, teachers and professionals. In 2010, she founded Parent2ParentU.com, a science-based parent resource.

Lu studied applied positive psychology (CAPP), trauma healing, and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) with Dr. Dan Siegel, Mindsight Institute, UCLA, 2010-11. In 2011, Lu curated and moderated a global online event on secure attachment and emotional wellbeing for PBS's series "This Emotional Life," featuring Dr. Dan Siegel and a panel of experts on attachment through the lifespan.
