Luis Antonio Perez is a highly accomplished and versatile audio producer, storytelling coach, and project manager with a proven track record of creating award-winning audio content, empowering diverse voices, and leading high-impact projects across the media landscape.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of podcast production, from concept to execution, and has worked with organizations such as Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization (YEBO), Colorado Public Radio, Radio MD/Doctor Podcasting, and Chicago Public Media.

Luis is passionate about fostering community partnerships and mentoring emerging talent. He has developed and delivered storytelling workshops for youth and novice media makers, and has built trust with diverse communities to amplify their stories.

Luis has a Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Podcast Academy "Ambie" Award, the New York Festivals "Silver" Award, and the Edward R. Murrow Award.

Luis was a host-producer at Chicago Public Media's Vocaloproject 91.1 FM from 2007-2015 pioneering a new radio genre, Urban Alternative Radio. He was also a contributor to WBEZ and NPR's Latino USA. In 2011 Luis was a recipient of the New Voices Fellowship for diversity in public media. In 2014 Luis was a Media Arts panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2015 he was selected as an Entrepreneurial Media Fellow with the Association of Independents in Radio and later served as the organization's president of the board from 2018-2022.

Before his career in public radio, Luis was an award winning actor and filmmaker. In 2003, he was the male lead in the Dogma 95 film "Common Senses." Most of Luis Antonio's work was behind the camera as a production manager and assistant director. From 2003-2007 He worked on over 30 short films as cinematographer, editor, producer. In 2007 Luis directed and produced the third and fourth installment of the legendary hip-hop freestyle rap battle documentary "Rhyme Spitters."

Luis is also a 'Live Lit' performer taking the stage at events like The Moth telling true stories of unexpected triumphs and inevitable disasters from his life growing up in Chicago's northwest side.
