Luis Chumpitaz

Hailing from Peru, Luis has a portfolio as rich and varied as his background thanks to previous design experience for the government, education and culture industries. With master’s studies in Business Administration, Media & Communication, Graphic Design and 15 years of experience behind him, he still loves drawing as much as he did as a kid applying those design-development skills to represent information.

He founded Infografika city in 2017, shortly after moving from Dubai to Prague. In his spare time, Luis speaks at national and international conferences, has aburgeoning digital art practice, and is active in the open information graphics community, promoting the use of data-viz and infographics to achieve better local transparency and prevent bad practices and beyond.

He has worked for Spanish, English, Arabic, Indian and Chinese media companies. His work has received several international awards from the Society of News Design, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) and Malofiej Awards, considered the Pulitzer Prize of the infographics industry.
