Hailing from a family of musicians in Mexico and now residing in New York City, Luis Guzman has been performing with Lila Downs since 2011. A bassist and composer, Luis has a remarkably strong and diverse foundation in Latin and Jazz musical forms embodied by his personal and professional experience. Luis has appeared internationally with renowned artists including Barry White, Marta Gomez, Chuchito Valdez and Michel Camilo among others. Behind the scenes, he consulted as composer/arranger for artists featured on America's Got Talent. Awarded the merit-based World Tour Scholarship, Luis has a Bachelor of Music, Magna Cum Laude, in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
