Resilient, confident and proactive Community Learning Disability Nurse with approximately 24 years of diverse clinical experience. My career spans across learning disability services, community nursing, assessment and treatment, mental health, brain injury management and CAMHS — enabling me to bring a well-rounded, holistic approach to person-centred care.
Currently practising as a Community Learning Disability Nurse, I work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote health equality, deliver complex physical health interventions, and improve health outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. My role includes delivering physical health and wellbeing interventions, supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex disabilities, and providing consultative input to families, carers and other clinicians to ensure joined-up, compassionate care.
Previously, I worked as a Practice Development Nurse, where I gained significant leadership and management experience — nurturing a strong passion for education, supervision and workforce development. This role strengthened my ability to lead through influence, inspire confidence, and maintain exceptional standards of care in challenging and fast-paced environments.
I am proud to be recognised as a dedicated and reflective practitioner — empathetic, resilient, and deeply committed to improving the lives of those I support. I’m skilled at fostering therapeutic relationships, promoting positive engagement through intensive interaction, and tailoring interventions that produce meaningful outcomes for individuals.
My ongoing professional ambition is to continue advancing my practice toward Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Specialist Nurse status — leading, motivating and inspiring healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care that upholds dignity and promotes inclusion at every opportunity.
