Resilient, confident, and proactive Community Learning Disability Nurse with nearly 25 years of diverse clinical experience — working toward Consultant Nurse status. My career has spanned the private, voluntary, and charitable sectors before joining the NHS — giving me a uniquely complete perspective on learning disability care and service delivery. I’ve worked across learning disability services, community nursing, assessment and treatment, mental health, acquired brain injury management, and CAMHS — building a truly holistic, person-centred foundation that shapes every aspect of my practice.

Currently within the NHS, I work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote health equality, deliver complex physical health interventions, and improve outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. I am proud to have my work and insights published in LD Practice — contributing to the evidence base and sharing best practice across the profession.

My role includes delivering targeted physical health and wellbeing interventions, supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex needs, and providing expert clinical leadership, advice, and guidance to families, carers, and fellow clinicians to ensure joined-up, compassionate care.

Previously, I served as a Practice Development Nurse, where I developed strong leadership, educational, and strategic expertise — and discovered a deep passion for advancing practice, improving standards, and developing the workforce. Having delivered care across private, voluntary, charity, and NHS settings, I bring adaptability, insight, and the ability to drive excellence in any environment. I thrive in challenging, dynamic environments, leading through influence to drive clinical excellence, inspire confidence, and embed quality improvement at every level.

I am a dedicated, reflective practitioner — empathetic, resilient, and fully committed to improving the lives of the people I support. I build strong therapeutic relationships, use intensive interaction to foster positive engagement, and design evidence-based interventions that deliver meaningful, lasting outcomes.
